Dr. Carlos Lira is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician who has been successfully practicing in West Palm Beach since 2002. He has extensive training and experience in the diagnosing and treatment in most illnesses present in the adult and geriatric populations, with a special interest and focus on preventative medicine. Dr. Lira firmly believes that preventative medicine is the key to good health and happy lives.

He received his medical degree from San Augustin School of Medicine in Arequipa, Peru. He then went on to the University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil where he got his masters in Exercise Physiology /Sport Medicine followed by cardiology training in Valle de Hebron Hospital/University of Barcelona where he practiced for many years. In 1996, he moved to Providence, Rhode Island where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Memorial Hospital of Brown University. Right after completing his training, Dr Lira accepted a position as Junior Faculty at Brown University and later became a clinical instructor of Internal Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine where he simultaneously taught medical students and residents as well as ran a successful private practice.

Dr. Lira moved to Palm Beach in 2002 and has loved not only the weather, but the opportunity to treat patients of various cultures and backgrounds. This is made easy by his ability to speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently.
