Dr. Mark Rothenberg has been a practicing interventional cardiologist in Palm Beach County since 1999. He joined MSPB Cardiology in August 2017. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Rothenberg is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

 

He specializes in:

• Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization

• Percutaneous Coronary and Valvular Intervention, including:

  • PTCA

  • Coronary stenting

  • Rotational and orbital coronary atherectomy

  • Intra-aortic balloon pump counterpulsation

  • Impella assist device insertion and management

  • Balloon aortic and pulmonic valvuloplasty

  • Alcohol septal ablation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (including proctorship with Edwards Lifesciences, Inc.)

  • MitraClip

 

Dr. Rothenberg was raised in northern New Jersey and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed a six-year combined undergraduate and medical school program at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and earned his M.D. degree in 1989. While in medical school, Dr. Rothenberg was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Rothenberg completed his Internal Medicine Internship, Internal Medicine Residency, and Cardiology Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. Rothenberg has been deeply involved in clinical research during his career. He has published in multiple journals on such topics as aortic stenosis, COPD and valve replacement techniques.  Some of the recent publications include:

Dr. Rothenberg is the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at JFK Medical Center, and has privileges at Bethesda East and West Hospitals, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palms West Hospital.

 

He is married and has three children.
