Dr. Lawrence Lovitz has been a practicing Interventional Cardiologist in Palm Beach County since 1992. He joined MSPB Cardiology   in August 2017.  Dr. Lovitz specializes in

  • Coronary Angioplasty

  • Coronary Stent Implantation

  • Coronary Rotational Ablation and CSI.

  • Complex Coronary Interventions and CTO.

  • Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Placement and Management

  • Impella and Mechanical Circulatory Support

  • Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement

  • Pericardiocenthesis

 

He was raised in South Florida and completed his undergraduate degree cum laude  at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  He went to Medical School at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and earned his M.D. in 1986. Dr. Lovitz moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the Emory University School of Medicine. He remained at Emory to complete his Clinical Fellowship in Cardiology.

 

Dr. Lovitz is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology.

 

Dr. Lovitz is the Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization laboratories at Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palms West Hospital. He is the Associate Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization laboratory at JFK Medical Center. He is on staff at Bethesda East and Good Samaritan Medical Center. Dr. Lovitz is also the Director of the Cath Lab rotation for the Cardiovascular Fellowship for the University of Miami (UM) JFK Medical Center Residency Program. 

 

Dr. Lovitz has spent his entire career improving the quality of Cardiovascular care in the United States through his pursuits in research. He has published in myriad journals including the Journal of Cardiac Failure and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology on such topics as Aortic Stenosis, Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, COPD, and valve replacement techniques.
