Dr. Ronald Merino is a distinguished foreign medical graduate from Peru, bringing a unique international perspective to his practice. He began his medical education at the prestigious Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in 1992. Dr. Merino's career started as a General Practitioner and Medical Director at the National Institute of Family Welfare, a role he held until 1998. He then pursued further specialization, completing a Cardiology Residency at the Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins in Lima, Peru. After finishing his residency in 2002, he continued to work at the same hospital, gaining extensive experience as a medical staff member.
After five years as a cardiologist, Dr. Merino moved to the USA and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Since graduating in 2010, Dr. Merino has been dedicated to his role as an Internal Medicine physician, primarily serving the Western New York area. His unwavering commitment to his patients is demonstrated through his outstanding clinical judgment and sense of responsibility, ensuring that his patients feel valued and cared for.
Dr. Merino's professional standing is underscored by his licensure in New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Florida. He is currently board-certified in Internal Medicine, a Fellow of the esteemed American College of Physicians, and an active member of the American Medical Association. These affiliations reflect his commitment to staying abreast of the latest medical advancements and best practices, ensuring the highest quality of care for his patients.
Dr. Merino is married and has two sons, ages 18 and 22. His family includes an adorable service animal named Lucky. Dr. Merino’s family lives in NY until his children finish high school and college.
Dr. Merino enjoys spending time with his family, which is a source of great joy and relaxation. He also has a passion for movies, swimming, and barbecues, which he finds refreshing and rejuvenating, especially during the summer in New York. Dr. Merino also has a special routine on Saturdays called 'Pizza Day,' where he indulges in his favorite food. He also enjoys walking his dog and watching soccer, which he finds a great way to unwind and recharge.
